It’s been 2 years since Huawei unveiled their first Huawei smart watch in early March 2015. In February 2017 Huawei has unveiled their second smart watch called the “Huawei watch 2” next to the Huawei P10 flagship smartphone duo which was officially available in stores in early March 2017 for $470.

Huawei’s “Watch 1” and “Watch 2” comes with only an internal memory of 4GB without a micro SD card slot. The “Watch 2” has been slightly improved with 768 MB RAM compared to the previous Huawei’s “Watch 1”  that only had 512 MB RAM.

The “Watch 2” is the first wearable to get Android Wear 2.0 right out of the box. The official release of latest version of android wear OS took quite a while. By looking at the User Interface of the OS, you will probably feel like that the wait was well worth it.

Huawei will offer it’s “Watch 2” in two options; the basic Huawei “Watch 2” and the Huawei “Watch 2 Classic”. The Watch 2 Classic comes with a leather strap, SIM-less version for the style conscious while the basic Watch 2 comes with plastic-rubber straps more suitable for the sporty, more actively lifestyle users.

As said before, only the basic version of Huawei’s “Watch 2” comes with the SIM compartment while the “Watch 2 Classic” is SIM free. The basic “Watch 2” supports only with Nano SIM or e-SIM cards.

The “Watch 2” comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset with quad-core 1.1GHz and 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The display of “Watch 2″ is 1.2” inch Circular AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolution and (326ppi) with 45mm in diameter and it weights 57g.

The “Watch 2” packs a 420mAh battery. The dimensions are 48.9 x 45 x 12.6mm and it weights at 60.5g.

Other specifications for the “Watch 2” include the Heart-rate sensor, 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis compass, wireless charging and barometer. It’s IP68 certified meaning that it’s dust and water resistant for over 1.5 meters and for 30 minutes. The watch is compatible with IOS which is always a welcome.

The Huawei Watch 2 is available in stores for $299.99 (~£232) and the Watch 2 classic is available on stores for $369.99 (~£286)
