The new flagship device from OnePlus is on a “hype-train”, and new information is either getting leaked or are announced by the company’s CEO himself. We can’t wait to see the device but it seems like the announcement date has changed while new information has been leaked and released.
That’s right, a new teaser suggests that the new flagship will be revealed on 20th June instead of 15th what we have heard before. We aren’t sure if this is a true announcement and a real date, but we are sure that either the 15th will be the European announcement date and, or the 20th will be the Asian, Chinese release date. We’ll see in just a bit more than a week.
In other news, Mr Lau (CEO of OnePlus) has also said on Weibo that the new OnePlus 5 will be the thinnest flagship ever, from OnePlus. According to him, the thinness will not cost any downgrade or affect the user experience apparently. The new rumors suggest that it’s going to be 7,4mm thick.
Another leak also reveals a new design of the OnePlus 5. The photo confirms a dual camera setup that’s placed horizontally on the top left corner.
The leak also reveals the antenna band placements on the back that looks very similar to the one we have seen on Meizu, iPhones and the new Nokias. What’s different is the design of those antenna bands.
As you can see above, the top antenna band will go half way to the middle while the one on the back will go the opposite direction creating a unique and simplistic look.
One last leak:
A few photos have leaked showing off the performance of the dual shooters on the back of the OnePlus 5.
GSMArena confirms that the camera is a 16MP shooter that has f/1.8 aperture, high resolution with EXIF, Color Square, B&W square and Bokeh effects.
The Property information of the images confirm the A5000 model number and the image dimension of 4640×3480.
A new leak also shows off the homescreen of the new OnePlus 5, though we have not yet seen this popping up in many other places, so take this with a pinch of salt.
Nevertheless, if it’s true, the image above is likely showing the Chinese, OxygenOS variant that OnePlus uses in Asian countries where the popularity of other functions is higher than the one we can find in the European models.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6 or 8GB RAM, 128 and 256GB storage options. The body of the new flagship is also expected to be ceramic much like what we have seen on Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi Mix.
That’s all we have for now, we are going to bring you more leaks and confirmed news about the OnePlus 5 once we have some more.
A new image has leaked of what seems to be an official render of the actual device, see the images below.
The device itself resembles a lot with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and it looks very similar in terms of design, camera placement and everything else, even the colours look identical.
