Samsung’s next flagship phablet – Galaxy Note 8 has been the subject of few rumors and leaks so far, revealing details such as the 6.3-inch Infinity Display, dual rear-camera setup and the latest available version of Android 7.1.1.

A new rumor has surfaced not long ago revealing the chipset of the device. The rumor says that the handset will be powered by the latest and newest yet to be announced Snapdragon 836.

The report notes the Snapdragon 836 chipset would be a slightly improved version of the Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is the latest and the greatest mobile chipset Qualcomm is currently offering for devices on stores.

The Snapdragon 836 chipset will feature an octa-core 2.5GHz processor, up from SD835’s 2.45 GHz. There will also be a 740MHz GPU. The Galaxy Note 8 is said to be one of  the first devices to pack this upcoming SoC, followed by the LG V30 and the second-gen Google Pixels.
