Samsung makes great and quality high-end devices, but that might not always be suitable for a lot of people.
Luckily, Samsung does not only make stylish and great looking phones that can break after a high drop on concrete. The “Active” flagship has been existing for a few years now and they are very suitable for those who work and perhaps live in a more ‘risky’ environment.
The new Galaxy S8 Active is currently in the making and we have some photos and information to share with you. As always, take all of this with a pinch of salt, although we must mention that the device looks pretty real and a near-finished final product.
According to the leaks, the Galaxy S8 Active will come with a large 4000 mAh battery (the Galaxy S8 only has 3500 mAh) and the same 18:9 aspect ratio that can be found on the Galaxy S8 duo, except the curved screen – they’re are nowhere to be found here, the screen is flat to make it sturdier against drops.
We expect to see the same internal setup that is Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB RAM, 64GB of on-board storage with MicroSD expansion slot. We also expect to see the same IP68 water and dust resistant certificate as well as the Military grade MIL-STD 810 certificate that can be found on the Galaxy S7 Active.
The Military grade usually includes: salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance.
What’s interesting is the fact that the so called “Active” key that was found on the left side on the S7 Active may not be the same on the S8 Active. It might be a so called “Bixby” button that may involve the functionality or re-mapping abilities to work just like the Active key. It is unclear so far, so we are looking forward hearing more about this in the future.
