Nokia has sent out invites to their event that will be held in London at 19:30 local time on 16 August. The event will likely focus at the brand new high-end device that will come from Nokia after years of not being in the smartphone business.
The Nokia 8 will be Nokia’s first high-end Android device, here’s what we can expect it to be:
The phone will likely be metal on the back and have 2.5D glasses on the front. The screen is likely a 5.3″ QHD AMOLED Display. It will most likely be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and either 32 or 64GB of on-board storage. It’s also expected to have a MicroSD card slot but it still stands unclear at this moment, we doubt Nokia would ditch this option.
It is also unconfirmed if the device will have any IP water and dust resistant certificate.
On the back, a 13MP dual-camera setup is expected to be. This will also be the first Android smartphone from Nokia to have such lenses, we are curious to find out how they will perform – we will get back to that in a dedicated article once the device is out.
There are supposed to be 3 colours including Steel, Blue and Copper-Gold.
The price is supposed to be around €600 or £550 and $700.
Mark your calendar, 16 August is not too far and we will likely see more leaks pouring in as we get closer to the release date.
