Garmin is expected to announce their 3rd generation of Vivoactive smartwatches onto the market very soon.

This 3rd generation is supposedly going to have the first rounded-display of the series.

The Garmin Vivoactive 3 is expected to come with an IP certificate to certify the water and dust resistance. It is unclear at this moment to tell what rating it will receive. It will most likely survive rain and longer submerging in clear water.

It’s important to note that the smartwatch will not run Android Wear. Instead the watch will run a custom operating system that will allow you to connect it up with a phone – be it IOS or Android.

It should allow you to receive notifications and reply back to messages as well as other important and useful features.

The health side of the smartwatch is expected to have a step and stair counter as well as interval training tracking. An altimeter and is also rumored to improve the accuracy.

The price and the release date of the smartwatch is still unclear at this moment. It’s important to remember that the previous generation Vivoactive HR was launched at $250.
