For long time know, we’ve known for a fact that Fitbit is working on a smartwatch – ever since they’ve purchased Pebble. Information and other details have leaked in the past, but they didn’t have enough information to tell so much.
A new set of images leaked online, showing off a potential future smartwatch that we might see in the very near future on the market.
The images show off a new smartwatch from a few different angles, giving us a great look of its features and design.
The watch you see below is supposedly called “Project Higgs” (for internal use). It looks very similar to Fitbit’s Blaze fitness tracker.
There’s a button on the left side and two others on the right side. The infra red sensor’s colour has apparently changed from green to red colour. There will also be an additional sensor that seems like might be a blue infra-red one.
Allegedly, there will be 3 colour variants including a silver case with navy strap, rose gold with blue strap and a dark case with black strap.
An ‘App Gallery’ might come pre-loaded on the watch that will supposedly contain applications from Fitbit’s partners. More applications are expected in the future as the SDK improves over time. IP certification is expected as well as a GPS sensor for better localisation.
The images you see above are from Wearable. They later on contacted Fitbit to get some comments about their new upcoming smartwatch. This was their reply:
“We know there is a lot of interest in our entry into the smartwatch category. We don’t have news to share at this time and do not comment on rumours or speculation. We can confirm that development of our smartwatch is on track and that it will be available for the holiday season.”
What are your thoughts about the new smartwatch? Do you like the design? Would you be interested in one in the future? Let us know the comments down below!
