OnePlus has answered a few questions on their forum, highlighting the future of their last year’s flagship devices including the OnePlus 3 and 3T.
The most interesting answer in question is the software support of the OnePlus 3 and 3T.
Oliver Z. – Head of Products – has answered the important question. He said that the August security patch will be out “soon” while the OxygenOS 4.5 build version will come in the next 1-2 months.
He has also stated that the Android 8.0 O will be the last major update made for the mentioned devices, though security patches will still be available and coming in the “foreseeable future”.
Also, the Open Beta will be moving to the company’s latest high-end flagship device, the OnePlus 5.
Interesting fact: The reading mode, off-screen gestures and the DCI-P3 screen calibration are not going to be implemented into the OnePlus 3 and 3T due to “hardware differences”
