Just yesterday, we have showed you some actual photos of the upcoming Xperia XZ1 flagship. Today, we are having another XZ1 device to show off, but this time it’s the more ‘Compact’ version of the flagship device.
Sony is known to release ‘Compact’ versions of their high-end flagship devices that are identical in terms of hardware and in looks too. Though, the hardware part changed last year, we hope it will be different this year.
The Xperia XZ1 Compact is rumored to be released on Sony’s IFA event on 31 August that will be held in Berlin.
The XZ1 Compact should be unveiled along with the XZ1 and the mid-ranger X1 as their new, fresh 2017 lineup.
The XZ1 Compact is expected to be a smaller version of the XZ1. It will supposedly have a 4.6″ IPS LCD display. The dimensions of the phone are 129.5 x 64.5 x 9.4 mm according to rumors.
It will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of expandable storage. If we had to guess, we would only assume a 32GB version though.
The battery is expected to be 2600 mAh and is also rumored to have NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack up on top and a USB-C port on the bottom of course.

The XZ1 Compact will supposedly launch with Android 7.1.1 on top of Xperia’s light-weight skin that’s nearly stock Android. The device is also expected to receive Android 8.0 O within a few months after 8.0 goes live. (That’s if the device doesn’t launch with Android 8.0)
