Xiaomi has finally unveiled their newest low-end device – the Redmi Note 5A.
The device offers overall a great build quality with a descent screen and battery. It is also very affordable at the price it is being offered for.
The Redmi Note 5A has a 5.5″ HD IPS 2.5D LCD screen. It’s powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 chipset with 2GB of RAM. Note that there are other variants including:
- 2GB RAM – base model (CNY 699 or $89)
- 3GB RAM with 32GB Storage (CNY 899 or $114)
- 4GB RAM with 64GB (CNY 1199 or $152)
Luckily, the storage is expandable via a MicroSD card slot.
A single camera can found found on the back that is a 13MP f/2.2 aperture sensor and a 16MP shooter is placed on the front to take selfies.
The fingerprint scanner can be found on the back, as most of the time with low/mid ranger Xiaomi devices.
The battery is fairly large at 3080 mAh, it should be more than enough to keep you going for a day.
The device is also pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. Note that Xiaomi’s MIUI 9, the latest version is on top of Android.
Keep in mind that since this is a low-end device, the performance will not always be the best and graphics intensive games may not run as smooth as lets say it runs on other mid-rangers. This device is perfect to get social and listen to music, play some ‘light’ games and to keep in touch.
The Redmi Note 5A will be available in 3 colour options: Champage Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum Silver Gray.
All of the devices are available for sale in China.
