According to some recent news, Google plans to release a new Chromebook Pixel this year along their new flagship devices.

Google has released a statement this year saying that they do not plan on releasing a new Chromebook Pixel device, despite hearing rumors of their ‘work-in-progress’ project – Andromedia.

According to the news, the new Chromebook Pixel would go head to head with Apple’s Macbook lineup. It would offer a 12.3″ touch-enabled display with support for Wacom stylus.

All of this is expected to cost about $799.

If however the rumors are true, we would expect to fall into the $1200-1800 price point, looking at the MacBook lineup, that would perhaps be a cheaper, reasonable price in our opinion. Take that with a pinch of salt.

If everything turns out to be true though, the new Chromebook Pixel 3 is expected to be released along with the new Pixel 2 flagship devices later on this year.
