Huawei has already confirmed the date when their next Mate flagship will be officially revealed – 16 October – and today we have some information, leaks on the overall design and specifications we can expect.
So far, we know that the new Mate 10 is codenamed (internally) as “Alpsl” while the Pro version is named “Blanc”.
So far we can happily expect that the device will have a metal unibody which is expected to be 7.5mm thick. It’s expected to have an IP68 water and dust resistance certificate too.
As you can see above, the Huawei Mate 10 will come with the company’s latest Kirin 970 chipset most likely coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB expandable storage options.
The display for the smaller Mate 10 (Alps) is supposedly a 5.8″ display with minimal bezels on top/bottom and on the sides. The difference would be noted on the RAM which would only be 4GB compared to 6GB on the Pro version. Also, the aspect ratio is expected to only be standard 16:9. Also, the phone is expected to be a little thickness at 8.3mm and will likely not have a 128GB storage variant.
The display for the the Mate 10 Pro (Blanc) is expected to be 6″ bezelless (18:9 aspect ratio) and a QHD AMOLED panel. (AMOLED isn’t confirmed so keep that in mind). The Mate 10 Pro is expected to come with the same internals and overall design except one thing – it’s expected to have a 6.3″ bezelless display.
On the back, there is supposed to be a dual-camera setup. The main camera is expected to be 20MP while the secondary would sport a 12MP sensor. It will most likely be ‘Leica’ branded, so expect the Portrait mode, B&W shots thanks to the monochrome sensors.
The front facing selfie shooter is allegedly an 8MP sensor.
The battery according to the sources is 4000 mAh which sounds pretty big, but consider the large display – so on paper we would believe a good day and half of use for moderate to average users.
Huawei Mate 10
The leak clearly reveals the similar design we have seen from the Mate series from Huawei. Fingerprint sensor placed underneath the display, same ‘old’ bezels and dual-camera setup on the back. You can clearly see the USB-C port on the bottom along with the speaker while the top houses space for the microphone and the 3.5mm headphone jack. NFC is also expected.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro
As you can see the details above, the Mate 10 Pro is expected to have a bezelless display.
