Huawei’s next phablet has been leaking for about 2 months now and the company has even released a few small promo images and details about their next upcoming flagship.

Today however, a new series of images have leaked showing us the design of the overall device as well as highlighting a few key features.

There will allegedly be two devices: Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. An additional Mate 10 Lite might also be released. Huawei has recently announced the Maimang 6 which is supposed to be released under the name of ‘Mate 10 Lite’ in Europe and in the US.

Huawei Mate 10 specifications:

The normal Mate 10 will have a 5.9″ (EntireView) full-screen FHD IPS LCD display with minimal bezels on the top and on the bottom. The screen will have the new standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The Mate 10 will allegedly have a 84% screen-to-body ratio.

The new Mate 10 will be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 970 chipset which has so far turned out to be a very powerful and efficient chipset. There will allegedly be 3 variants available upon release, may be market dependent:

4GB RAM + 64GB storage

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

6GB RAM + 256GB storage

CNY 4299 or ~$650

CNY 4899 or ~$744

CNY 5599 or ~$850

It’s worth mentioning that the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro are expected to come with UFS 2.1 storages.

The device will be IP67 certified meaning that it will be able to withstand small amounts of water and dust. The device will also have NFC, USB-C port as well as Bluetooth 5.0 (likely).

The battery is expected to be 4000 mAh large so that should clearly be (hopefully) enough for a good day of use for hardcore users and 2 days with moderate to average users. As you would expect, ‘Super Charge’ will also be available to top up your device in a fast manner while keeping it cool and safe.

The camera on the Mate 10 will be a dual shooter setup with Leica’s branding. It will also be AI powered, so the AI will be able to scan and recognise 14 scenes automatically and adjust the settings accordingly. The camera will have a f/1.6 aperture and SUMMLUX-H lenses. The camera setup will now be vertically oriented near the top edge on the back of the device.

There will also be an Assistant available that will be able to translate text files using the camera – all while being offline thanks to the NPU (Neural Processing Unit).

Huawei Mate 10 Pro specifications:

The Mate 10 Pro will have a slightly larger display at 6″ (that’s 0,1″ larger compared to the standard Mate 10) AMOLED QHD display, and will not have a fingerprint sensor on the front. The front will instead use the fingerprint sensor’s location to stretch the display a bit more. The device is also said to come with a 90% screen-to-body ratio and also with curved edges.

The fingerprint sensor will be located on the back of the device and will be centered – where it belongs.

Other than that small change, it should be identical in terms of specifications to the Mate 10. Another minor difference is the battery which will supposedly be 4200 mAh (200 mAh more than in Mate 10)

6GB RAM + 64GB storage

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

6GB RAM + 256GB storage

8GB RAM + 256GB storage

CNY 5499 or ~$835

CNY 6199 or ~$941

CNY 6899 or ~$1042

CNY 7499 or ~$1138

The Huawei Mate 10 series will be unveiled on 16 October.
