TP-Link is certainly not a company you would think about when I would say: think about a high-end smartphone company. TP-Link is famous for its network solutions, not so much for their smartphones.

According to recent sources, TP-Link is is making a high-end flagship smartphone with some of the latest tech inside it.

So, here’s what the sources describe the new “Neffos” device to be.

It will supposedly be equipped with this year’s high-end Snapdragon 835 chipset. In terms of RAM, we would expect this to be between 4-8GB segment, though there are no details on this one as of right now.

It will also likely have a large, 18:9 aspect ratio display with minimal top/bottom bezels and seemingly curved edges – just like on the Galaxy S8. Due to the huge display, the fingerprint sensor will likely be placed on the back in a centred position, underneath the dual camera setup.

Talking about camera, it will be a dual-cam setup. The main sensor is said to be a 16MP unit while the second one is 20MP with 2x optical zoom. Nothing new here, but surprising to see this company try this out. The selfie shooter is also said to be 16MP.

TP-Link has only made low-end and very few mid-ranger devices in the past that we do not believe went well in terms of sales, so it is definitely surprising to see the company try out a high-end device. We’re wondering what made the company change up their strategy and shift towards a more premium market.

We do not know any more details as of right now, but we’ll be sure to update you once we find out more.
