The predecessor of last year’s Mi Mix is coming and it might come sooner than you think. A new leak confirming the all-screen display has appeared online.

Last year, Xiaomi has surprised everyone with the release of the Mi Mix and the technology it has developed with it. The device featured a full-screen device that only had some small bezels on the bottom of the device.

This year though, it seems like Xiaomi wants to repeat what it did last year. Looking at the photo down below, we can see that the new device boasts an even larger screen area, and it also might get a little thinner. (The original Mix was 7.9mm thick)

As you can see, a very small amount of bezel would still be left over, but it would significantly be less than what it was on the original Mi Mix.

The front of the device shows no sign of an earpiece (most likely because of the built-in piezoelectric module) or a front facing camera. Not seeing a selfie camera on the front of the device is certainly a new thing that we have not seen on any devices in the past few years.

Compared to the original Mi Mix, the Mix 2 looks like it will be a more rounded device with metal frames and hopefully a ceramic back. We sure hope that the back will be less slippery than the previous one was.

The Mi Mix 2 is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of on-board storage, an AMOLED display and a 19MP rear camera. It’s unclear if the Mix 2 will jump to the dual-cam bandwagon yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know once we have some more news available.

A 4500 mAh battery is also tipped along with a release date of mid-September. The price is supposedly CNY 4999 that’s about $750 or €640.
