If we look at 2017, we can see that most of the flagship devices that were released were sporting the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.
There were really only a few occasions when manufacturers said no, we either go for the previous year’s high-end SoC, or perhaps they made their own chipset that proved to be a great scenario.
In 2018, the high-end flagships will all sport the same chipset – well, most of them.
According to a leaked list, most of the high-end flagships that you can get your hands on on the west, and east side of the world will sport the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipsets. The image can be found below, but we’ve made it easier to read underneath.
- Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+
- LG G7 and G7 +
- Xiaomi Mi 7
- HTC U 12
- OnePlus 6
- ZTE Nubia Z18
- Sony Xperia XZ Pro-A
- Samsung Galaxy Note 9
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
- LG V40
- Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL
- ZTE Nubia Z18S
- Sony Xperia XZ2

- As an extra, Samsung will make yet another smart/flip phone – it will likely be only available in China and in limited quantities.
There are a lot of devices on the list, and it is indeed a good thing to see LG having their G series equipped with the latest SoC in 2018. We are almost certain about this list, however we imagine a lot of other devices to see on the list as we progress towards the end of 2018.
(We would likely add Oppo, Nokia, Lenovo, Asus to this list just to name a few of the many)
